Saya mengetahui blog thedancinganimal.blogspot.com sejak Lala Bohang meninggalkan komentar di entri  Hippie Yippie! dan menawari saya untuk ikutan submit ilustrasi ke sana. Suka blog ini! (Dan saya juga suka blognya Lala! :) Sebenarnya  konsepnya mirip dengan the illustration friday yang kadang-kadang saya ikut sertai *ikut sertai? Kayaknya ada yang salah deh sama penggunaan katanya*. Cuma, saya suka, pertama karena ini blog ilustrasinya orang-orang Indonesia (hope you’ll be as big as the illustration friday), dan yang kedua, karena pergantian temanya sebulan sekali! Tidak seminggu sekali seperti Illustration Friday; yang mana buat saya rada nyebelin, terlalu mepet.

Kebetulan  akhir bulan Juni, saya sudah berniat untuk menggambar sesuai dengan tema thedancinganimal bulan yang bersangkutan, superhero. Tapi apa daya, bulan Juni saya mendadak sibuk *Alasan supaya terdengar keren.*, jadi kelewat deh.

Dan sewaktu barusaaaan saja saya buka thedancinganimal, ternyata topiknya : dancing.

Yay!

kenapa Yay?

Soalnya, kebetulan beberapa hari yang lalu, saat dalam perjalanan pulang,di kereta api, saya sempat iseng oret-oretan di sketchbook saya dan salah satu yang saya gambar ya si dancing queen ini. Ga ada konsep neko-neko, nggak ada makna filosofis, konotatif, dual meaning, apa lah. Cuma gambar si Mbak-mbak ratu nari ini saja. Tadinya mau saya buat lebih sophisticated, entah diretouch dengan photoshop atau mungkin digambar ulang, menggunakan cat air atau apa lah, tapi mengingat sekarang sudah akhir bulan, dan biasanya kalau segala sesuatu di’entar-entar’ ujungnya nggak jadi, ya sudah, saya kirim saja lah. Ntar buat topik bulan agustus, saya bikin yang lebih bagus. :D

Oops, sorry, just realized that I picked the wrong illo medium !

I supposed to choose pencil color instead of water color, and it can’t be corrected. :-(

For illustration friday. When I heard  ‘Legendary‘, first thing came to my mind was : ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. So this is my interpretation of it.

I suck at watercolor.  Bear with me. :D
